LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT IN NURSING
In our modern society, nursing is a very important aspect. This is because nursing provides the right healing process for all patients. Through a careful consideration of the existing medical conditions, it is required that nurses develop the right approach to make patients recover fast. Nurses provide adequate help to doctors by striving to offer them with the relevant medical support. They are expected to make patients go through the treatment process in a professional way for a better process of dealing with the complications relating to the different illnesses and accidents which occur. (ILembe&Monterosso, 2008). However, nursing professional is faced with several challenges and it must be emphasized that leadership is a crucial aspect in overcoming such challenges. The common challenges in my workplace are harassments, underpayments, and professionalism issues whereby many nurses may not lack the understanding of the ethical issues. Efficient leadership must exist in the health care since it does not only help in effecting change but also achieving greater standards of patient care (Davidson, Elliott and Daly, 2006 p182). Nonetheless, this cannot be achieved if form of leadership adopted by the authority does not favor such changes. This paper will discuss how these challenges present themselves and it will address how they can be tackled using the different leadership styles.
