Introduction:

For this task, complete the Aseptic Technique and Culturing Microbes LabPaq experiment found at the web link below. Next, you will complete the microbial identification experiments listed below and write a lab report discussing the results of these experiments.

Microbial identification experiments:

• Biochemical Testing for Microbial Identification—Methyl Red, Voges-Proskauer, and Catalase LabPaq experiment using Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus epidermidis

• Biochemical Testing for Microbial Identification—Carbohydrate Fermentation LabPaq experiment using Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Staphylococcus epidermidis

• Bacterial Identification through Functional Media—Motility Testing LabPaq experiment using Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus epidermidis

Note: You will need the Staphylococcus epidermidis culture for Task 3, so do not discard it.

Your lab report should be written in complete sentences and in paragraph form. Your report should include the following sections:

• materials and methods

• results

• discussion

The information required for each section is outlined in the requirements section below.

Requirements:

Your submission must be your original work. No more than a combined total of 30% of the submission and no more than a 10% match to any one individual source can be directly quoted or closely paraphrased from sources, even if cited correctly. You must use the rubric to direct the creation of your submission because it provides detailed criteria that will be used to evaluate your work. A. Write a lab report about the Aseptic Technique and Culturing Microbes LabPaq experiment and the microbial identification experiments in which you do the following:

1. Discuss the importance of using proper aseptic technique when working with microorganisms.

2. Describe how the following experiments were performed, including the organisms used, media used, the time of incubation, and any reagents that were added:

For the final examination, select a healthcare related policy — either one in existence or (more difficult) one you would propose — and in a 4 – 5 page paper explain its purpose and impact. Do NOT simply describe a law or policy without explaining its impact (i.e. whether it has worked).

This is solid writing. Your paper makes number of intriguing points related to the doctrine of double effect, and you are beginning to surface some interesting objections in response. This is a great start! For the next draft, focus on structuring your argument a bit more. You need to make sure that you have a clear thesis statement, and that you end each paragraph with a sentence that tells the reader what the significance of the paragraph is. That said, I think you’ve got a lot of solid content here, so it’s just going to be about working on your papers organization and structure.
