Individual Project

Mr. and Mrs. Ybarra, a retired couple in their late 70s, come in to meet with you. They are very friendly and living a comfortable retirement due, in large part, to the overall size of their estate (nearly $4 million dollars spread over multiple accounts) and their conservative asset allocation.

As you bring up the issue of estate planning, they thank you for your concern, but explain that it is already taken care of. They go on to explain that their attorney has prepared wills for both of them and all of their accounts are titled Jointly with Rights of Survivorship.

There are surprised, and a little confused, when you mention that their heirs might end up receiving only a fraction of those assets after the two of them pass away.

Include the following in your explanation to Mr. and Mrs. Ybarra:

The transfer-tax system

What is considered part of the estate

How much is excluded from taxation based on current legislation

Gross estate versus adjusted gross estate

Discussion: Spreading Innovation

An organization may be generally amenable to innovations but not ready or willing to assimilate a particular [Evidence-Based Practice] EBP …If there is tension around specific work or clinical issues and staff perceive that the situation is intolerable, a potential EBP is likely to be assimilated if it can successfully address the issues and thereby reduce the tension.

Adoption of evidence-based innovations in nursing practice is a critical facet of promoting quality and safety. As a nurse leader-manager, you play a pivotal role in evaluating these innovations and promoting those that will positively impact outcomes.

To prepare:

Review the information on diffusion of innovation presented in the Learning Resources.

Visit the Agency for Healthcare Research and Qualities’ Innovation Exchange website (listed in the Learning Resources). Click on “Innovations & Quality Tools” or “Browse by Subject” then read through a selection of descriptions of innovations.

Evaluate how each of these innovations addresses a problem, and determine if you could integrate the innovation (or a similar one) into your organization or one with which you are familiar.

Select one of the innovations on which to focus for this Discussion. Think about how you might introduce this innovation in your selected organization, and strategies that you might use to facilitate communication and engagement needed to sustain the innovation.

Post a detailed review of one innovation that you found of particular interest on the AHRQ Innovation Exchange. Explain the problem being addressed, the innovation, and the outcomes and how you might introduce a similar innovation in your organization or one with which you are familiar. Outline strategies you would employ to sustain the innovation.

Read a selection of your colleagues’ responses.

Respond to at least two of your colleagues on two different days using one or more of the following approaches:

Ask a probing question, substantiated with additional background information or research.

Share an insight from having read your colleagues’ postings, synthesizing the information to provide new perspectives.

Validate an idea with your own experience and additional resources.

containerization and the advantages of it

This week, we discuss containerization and the advantages of it. Containerization has provided quite a few advantages in maritime shipping. One advantage is lower cost. Utilizing containers to ship goods and products enables bulk shipping. A 20 or 40-foot container can be loaded with thousands of pounds of goods and merchandise and hundreds of them can be loaded on a ship. Costs incurred by lost or damage are also reduced due to the stability of the container. Containers are easier for in transiting cargo from one mode to another. As they come off of a ship into a sea port, they can be picked up and placed on a truck or rail cart for transportation to the destination. The containers provide some protection and security for the cargo inside.

There are indeed parallels in the air freight industry for containerization. Working in the aerial port in the Air Force, I have personally loaded and unloaded many containers. The advantages are moving more in one container. Moving the goods faster to the destination. It simplifies placing the cargo on a truck to be taken to the final destination. In fact, a couple of months ago we loaded a 70-thousand-pound container, which was about 40-feet, off of one of our aircraft. It was a security vault that the unit now needed in Germany. It was the quickest way to get the merchandise to the user and was the only thing that arrived on the aircraft. In today’s intermodal transportation world, containerization is part of both sea and air freight.

You did a good job at going over the advantages and disadvantages of containerization.

Class,

Consider the history of containerization in maritime. Provide an example of the first use (one of the).

Reply 100 words to student chris 250 words forums post class 352:

Hello class,

Containerization is one of the pivotal pieces to the supply chain in business especially when it comes to maritime operations. It has provided a lot of advantages to use in all aspects of transportation. Containerization is one of the biggest factors to intermodal transportation which we talked about a few weeks ago. Containerization is utilizing shipping containers on all areas of the supply chain which makes it easier to transport, load/unload and store freight throughout the process. One huge advantage of containerization is the amount of money saved for the process. There are a few reasons why. Most of containerization is utilized on rail transportation and sea freight transportation which provides the cheapest route for overall cost and the amount of bulk shipment you can transport at a time. Of course a big advantage of it is that it is less time consuming. It provides easier transitions and you don’t have to separate orders as much like air freight and motor mode freights usually do. They are also overall better for the environment as well.

When it comes to the air freight industry, I do see the air freight industry being parallel with containerization simply because containers are utilized in all forms of transportation. I did not mention it earlier in the post but there are many different container sizes that would be factored in containerization. The only difference that comes with containerization in the air freight industry is the superb speed of it and the cost of the overall process of the air freight industry.

CASE STUDY 7-1

Implementing a Performance Management Communication Plan at Accounting, Inc.

Accounting, Inc. is a consulting and accounting firm headquartered in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Recently, Accounting, Inc. implemented a performance management system. The first step in the implementation of the new system was the development of a set of core competencies that would be used to evaluate most employees regardless of function or level. In addition, each employee was evaluated using more job-specific performance dimensions.

As the first step in the communication plan, the employees received individual e-mail messages asking them to define what the core competencies meant to them and to give descriptions and examples of how each of the core competencies played out in their specific positions. Next, thecompany held meetings, handed out frequently asked questions (FAQs) sheets, and placed posters around the company detailing how the core competencies were related to the organization’s strategic priorities and how performance scores would be related to monetary rewards. In these communications, Accounting, Inc. detailed how the performance system worked, how the raters were chosen, how performance feedback was used, and other details about the system. The information also outlined the benefits employees could expect from the new system as well as employees’ responsibilities regarding the system.

Please evaluate Accounting, Inc.’s communication plan. Specifically, does it answer all of the questions that a good communication plan should answer? Which questions are left unanswered? How would you provide answers to the unanswered questions (if any)? Source: Adapted from P. Reflection Paper For My Capstone

Hi,

I need 2 and half pages of paper in APA format. It should be reflection paper about my feeling of my first week of capstone as a school nurse. I am doing my capstone in a school indistric 15 that have 1200 students : preschoolers through 8th grade.

I want to write this reflection about how i was excited and at the same time a little nervous because i had no idea what should i expect. i found it so interesting since patients all were adorable, even sometimes the fake story they made to be out of class was intetresting to me. In the first week of my capstone hours, i learned how to repond to each student and how to intervene. since we are not allowed to use any medication even over the countermeds or cough drop. I tried to get to know students better and know about students that have any kind of medical issue.

i attend 3 school days each week for 7 weeks. Each week i need this 2 and half pages paper with some refrences. There are 7 students with diabetes 1 that need accu check few times each day . They do all things for themselves and nurse just observe them. One student need straight cath, 2 times in each school day, he does for himself with supervision of the nurse.

Also i want to write me second paper with consideration all these information, like in second week of being in school, students started to come to me as well as their regular nurse and talk about the reason they are in nursing office that moment. It is whole different situation being a nurse in school than in a hospital. It is refreshing to me to work with these population , since it took me to those years i was in school and I remembered all sweet memories again. The main cause that students come to the nursing office is complaining of headache and stomachache and i realized most of them don’t eat any breakfast at home, it can be a factor that associate to not feel well to start a schoolday.

can you write 2 different reflection paper for 2 weeks?

Each paper 2 1/2 pages with refrences andAPA format. the topic for both papers can be” my experience as a school nurse” . Who can help me?

I want the person to be available for next 7 weeks to each week do this assignment. Thank you
