Describe the disaster that could/does occur in your area and give some examples of the appropriate type of public health response, including first response and later stages of recovery.

• Review the materials on your state or local Web site, and determine how well-prepared your area is to deal with this type of disaster.

• Discuss some of the materials you found for preparedness. Be sure to aim your discussion towards educating your scholarly peers about what is there rather than towards an individual member of the public who might be using the materials. What are the strengths and weaknesses of the plan? Are there noticeable gaps?
